Jennifer Reeves has completed  thirty seven years of extensive K-12 and University teaching and research experience in physical education and health pedagogy, teacher training, and curriculum development and recently has retired from full-time at the University of Arizona. Currently she works as the wellness coordinator at Tucson Unified School District and is the Principal Investigator of the Empower Youth Health Program serving 9 Arizona School Districts and 80 schools state-wide. She is a former NASPE Physical Education Teacher of the Year and has conducted over 600 physical activity and obesity prevention trainings and workshops on the State, District, National, and International levels.  In 2015 she was awarded the Joy of Effort Award from SHAPE America.  In June 2012-2015, Ms. Reeves was invited to work with the World Health Organization in Aruba and deliver a 3 day workshop to 31 Pan American, Caribbean, and Latin American countries to develop policies for obesity prevention in schools throughout these countries.  She has recently worked with the development of the Healthy Schools Program and the Premiere’s Youth Fitness Program in Bermuda to combat one of the highest obesogenic the world. She is Co-Chairperson for the Arizona Action for Healthy Kids Program and Arizona Alliance for a Healthy Generation Intermediary to promote the Healthy Schools Program throughout Arizona. She is a national trainer for the President’s Youth Fitness Program and the Let’s Move Active Schools Program.
