Empowering Fitness Education Champions:
This is a  DOUBLE SESSION. PLAN FOR TWO HOURS.  We will share how the PYFP fits into the Whole School, Whole Child, Whole Community framework, the CSPAP--Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program and the National Standards for Physical Education.  PYFP is more than a fitness test as we will provide tools for teaching fitness concepts, assessing fitness scores and understanding results, plans for improvement and maintenance and empowering youth to take charge.  We will review the PYFP checklist and share strategies to integrate them into your physical education programming.  In addition to reviewing Fitnessgram, we will also share teaching stratgies for the 5 fitness components.  Physical fitness education is critical to students taking charge of their learning of health and physical literacy. PYFP helps students with physical competencies and cognitive understanding about physical activity and fitness lead to healthy active lifestyles.

Get Active with Active Schools ( Let's Move Active Schools)
In this session, I will share how Active Schools has helped changed my school to a physical activity culture. Participants will learn how to make a student driven program that include brain boosts, before and after school programs, fitness calendars, recess, intramurals and an obstacle course.
